Rabbi Shmuel and Draizy Lefkowitz moved to Brunswick in 2018 to establish the Chabad Brunswick Jewish Student Center along with their two kids Mendel, 3 and Levi, 1.

Rabbi Shmuel Lefkowitz grew up with a passion and was actively involved in outreach work. His parents’ home was always open to all, a place where every guest felt cherished, accepted and respected. He has visited different campuses during his years as a Yeshiva Student, and has witnessed the devotion of the Shluchim towards the students and faculty members in the Chabad Houses there. He formed connections with many students throughout the years, and learned a lot from those experiences. These encounters solidified his desire to dedicate his life to outreach work, and to serve as a mentor and friend to the students on Campus in Maine.

Mrs. Draizy Lefkowitz was very fortunate to have grown up in Maine. Her parents Rabbi Moshe and Chana Wilansky direct Chabad of Maine, working with the Jewish community in Portland and its surrounding areas. From a young age, she loved helping her parents and interacting with the members of the Jewish community.
